Visit Lake Tazawako to cool off during the summer! Enjoy lower temperatures in the morning and evening. An open window makes air conditioning unnecessary. You can work up a good sweat by spending time at the Lake Tazawako shore or by climbing Mt. Akita Komagatake.
The season for enjoying the spectacular blend of red and yellow leaves lasts for an entire month. And while the area around hotel is perfect for enjoying the colors of the season, great scenery can also be found in other locales such as Mt. Akita Komagatake, Hachimantai, Lake Tazawako, Dakigaeri Valley, and Kakunodate Bukeyashiki (samurai residences). A car is the most convenient way for getting around if you come to enjoy the colorful autumn leaves.
Celebrated annually since 1910, the Omagari Fireworks Festival is one of the most prestigious fireworks events in Japan. Selected for this event are the finest pyrotechnicians in Japan, fireworks artists who vie for the Prime Minister’s Award among other honors. As of late, the event has been held not only in August but also other times during the year in shows entitled “Spring Chapter” and “Autumn Chapter.”
